Babies & Cupcakes

I felt so lucky to have been surrounded by the people and things that I think are most beautiful in life, I’m talking about babies & cupcakes. Now cupcakes are a given, I’m always happy to be around cupcakes. Babies, well that took some getting used to.

Almost 2 years ago, I became an auntie! You may remember the Baby Blueberry Champagne Cupcakes I made to celebrate Rand’s arrival. Now he’s all grown up.. or so it seems, he’s already movin’ and shakin’ all around the place. My sisters and I schemed to round up all of our baby slinging friends in Steamboat at Little Toots Park for some BBQ and Bocce during thier visit.

We had a blast, babies & cupcakes.. you got to try it!

Easter Egg Cupcakes

This Easter, I enjoyed a full day of good food & Spring skiing with my amazing sister and our wonderful friends. Everyone participated in making a special dish for our HUGE Easter brunch. Ryan’s dutch oven frittata was amazing! Travis made waffles with 2 (TWO) waffle makers going at once, I was very impressed. We had turkey sausage, cheesy biscuits, Cadbury caramel eggs, mimosas, and Peep infused coffee.

These cupcakes were also quite the Easter treat. Carrot raisin mini cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, topped with toasted coconut and candy eggs.

The texture was my favorite part – a little bit of crunch from the coconut and eggs turned out to be the perfect complement to the light and fluffy little cakes.

I finally had the chance to use this beautiful, unique cake stand my sister found for me in Denver. She’s feeding into my latest obsession – collecting vintage cake stands!

I hope you all had a great Easter with family & friends.

Boutique Mini Wedding Cupcakes

There’s that magical feeling of love floating around in the air, and it comes about this time every year. Blushing soon-to-be brides finalizing every last detail of their big day from bridesmaids’ gifts to the cake {or cupcakes}!

Although I’m far from ever planning my own wedding celebration, I’ve decidedly chosen mini cupcakes as the finale to my perfect day. I’ve seen cupcakes as a huge trend and choice in dessert during wedding season. These Champagne Mini Cupcakes would be my first suggestion for any bride looking to change things up.

What do you think: classic cake or boutique mini cupcakes?
