September 2010:

theCupcakediary is moving to Hollywood!

Moving sponsored by Coffee Bean Moving sponsored by Coffee Bean

That's right theCupcakediary is packing up, baking equipment and all. Hollywood here we come!

At the moment, all cupcake baking projects have been put on hold. Not to worry, cupcake activities will resume by October. Just like Martha Stewart moved to the Hallmark Channel, bigger and better things await in Hollywood for us.

I am blessed to have the opportunity to move with my good friend April, a regular cupcake taster in theCupcakediary adventures. We will be starting our big girl jobs and making cupcake dreams come true in the big city.

I am also blessed to be working with an amazing company, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf as their new social media coordinator. That means I will be getting paid to share what living the CBTL lifestyle is all about, and I should know, I have worked as a barista and supervisor for the past 4 1/2 years.

So, please, take the time to 'like' Coffee Bean on Facebookfollow them on Twitter and you will get to witness not only all my cupcakediary adventures here, but the results of my hard work through all social media outlets for Coffee Bean.

Cheers! See you in Hollywood!

Cupcake Blogs Blogroll

I love being a member of cupcake world!

There are so many cupcake bakers, bloggers and enthusiasts out there and I would like to take a moment to recognize a few favorites.

Cupcake Fails is a pretty entertaining blog about cupcake disasters.

I especially enjoy this blog because I know from first hand experience, dropping your cupcakes does not make for a happy day. The truth of the matter, as Cupcake Fails states, "You know you'd still eat it."

Cupcake OMG! is a very interesting blog about working hard during the day and dreaming about cupcakes all night.

The writer Melissa, has a very sarcastic sense of humor, so it makes for great reading. She includes some personal information about her job and boyfriend, but somehow it all revolves around cupcakes!

Cupcakes Take the Cake is the ultimate cupcake blog. These ladies really know what they're doing by optimizing all cupcake searches through Google.

Seriously, need a cupcake recipe? I'm pretty sure Cupcakes Take the Cake has it, and if you Google it, you'll see them pop up almost every time.

Their goal is to become the resource for all cupcake information and I think they are. Maybe a little too much information, but regardless; Cupcakes Take the Cake, take the cake for cupcake blogs!

There really is a surplus of cupcake blogs out there, and I am honored that my friends and family and anyone else who visits my cupcake diary has chosen to do so. Enjoy!

Cupcakes in Fashion

Fashion's Night Out in Los Angeles was a pretty sweet event and lucky for me, infused with cupcakes!

On September 10, 2010 stores along Robertson and Melrose in Beverly Hills opened their doors to fashionistas of all types and stars like Kelly Osbourne and Mena Suvari whom we just had to have a picture with!

I couldn't believe how many stores were offering a gourmet selection of cupcakes. They were all so tasty, and I have captured a few photos to share; Red Velvet, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Lemon Meringue.

Johnny Cupcakes on Melrose was of course offering up cupcakes for the big event as well.

My good friend April and I were in Johnny Cupcake heaven and took some fun photos in the bakery themed shop before the place got packed.

#3 - but the picture does not depict the yumminess of the actual cupcake! Super yummy and my fav. The texture is light and fluffy. Not too sweet and moist - a great combination. I love that you can taste the strawberry in the frosting. It was a hit at the trunk show!!! Need your cards when I order your cupcakes.

Chocolate Salted-Caramel Cupcakes

Cupcake Costumes

Halloween is right around the corner and I have been getting my costume ideas brewing.

My favorite inspiration this year is Katy Perry. Maybe not her cupcake bra and glitter shorts, but I do love those bright wigs and sweets inspired outfits.

Through my cupcake costume research, I have found only a few options for sale online. A couple women's, men's and children's cupcake costumes pictured and linked below.

Realistically, I will be creating something homemade. I see lots of pink and a whole lot of glitter! Any extra ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Also thought it would be cute for a couple to dress up as a baker and a cupcake :)
